Books on self development

 Books on self development

This article will uncover some of the many self development books I have read and would recommend to those of you who seek discovering their absolute best self.

Diving straight in, my first book would be 'SwitchCraft' by Elaine Fox.

SwitchCraft

SwitchCraft provides practical advice on how to get the most out of your life. Psychologist, Elaine Fox, offers real insight on how we can cope with the pressures of everyday life and still strive in this uncertain, post Covid world.  Elaine uses her profession to unravel the science that allows you to be more agile in achieving goals and changing your life in profound ways. If you want to harness your mental agile and optimise your life then this is a good read for you.

The Miracle Morning

The miracle morning by Hal Elrod is a book based on maximising your full potential. Hal Elrod speaks on how most people live mediocre lives with the capabilities to succeed and break from the mediocracy. He encourages you to strive and go do what it is you need in order to succeed. He provides practices for achieving productivity. Core insights are provided and he touches on his own experiences, where with the use of his own practices, it made him go from living a mediocre life to living a successful one.

The Magic of Thinking BIG

The magic of thinking big by David J Schwartz is a book based on the art of opening your perspective and thinking bigger, beyond the average. It is a classic guide to living a better life and striving to reach your full potential. It outlines the differences between a successful person and a mediocre person. David J Schwartz elaborates on 'uplifting self practice [and avoiding] belittling and self punishment.' He speaks on how "you are what you think you are." This moves onto the idea of how you conduct and 'sell' yourself to others. To be the best version of yourself. It is one of the best self help books out there.

Atomic Habits

Atomic Habits is written by James clear who articulates the importance on creating systems to maintain high functioning, beneficial habits. He writes on the subject of self care, breaking down a framework for improving your everyday life. James Clear shares his studies on habit formation, revealing practical strategies that teach you how to keep good habits, break from bad ones and master skills that lead to remarkable results. Atomic Habits will re shape the way you think and approach habits. Habits are consistent and are natural behaviours for you, so they tend to define who you are which is why James Clear articulates the importance of mastering your habits.

All four of these books I have read and would highly recommend to those who want to start reading into self development, to better themselves and reach their fullest potential. It all begins with you. They have inspired me with my personal growth and even inspired me to share with you my findings. I am inclined to learn more on self development as a result of these authors.

I leave you off on two quotes for this article and wish you the best!

"Think before you speak. Read before you think." - Lebowitz

"Reading is essential to those who seek to rise above the ordinary." - Jim John
